The sequelae of femoral neck fracture after 10 years mainly include non-union of femoral neck fracture, ischemic necrosis of femoral head, traumatic arthritis, and shortening of limb.
1. Non-union of femoral neck fracture: some patients will have non-union of fracture, which is mainly related to poor local blood circulation caused by fracture.
2. Ischemic necrosis of femoral head: Due to the special structure of femoral neck, the blood supply is low, and after the fracture, the blood cannot be supplied, which leads to ischemic necrosis of femoral head.
3. Traumatic arthritis: when the fracture patient is not properly repositioned or untreated, the fracture site will constitute a deformation of the healing, which not only makes the appearance of the ugly, and in the weight-bearing because of the change in the direction of the force, which is, fracture patients are prone to deformation of the joints due to the onset of excessive wear and tear, degradation, hyperplasia and other pathologic changes that lead to traumatic arthritis.
4. Limb shortening: If the fracture has deformed healing, it will lead to shortening of the femoral neck and unequal length of the legs.
Patients with femoral neck fracture for 10 years may also have sequelae such as crashing pneumonia, decubitus ulcers and urinary tract infections, etc. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for timely review and follow the doctor’s instructions for early recovery.
