  Atopic dermatitis is a chronic, recurrent, age-specific inflammatory skin disease associated with genetic allergic qualities. It begins in early infancy, childhood, and may persist into adulthood. The lesions are erythematous, papular, papulopustular, lichenoid, and other polymorphic rashes with a tendency to exude, and may have different clinical manifestations at different ages. The pathogenesis is mainly related to genetic background, immune abnormalities, environmental factors, skin barrier function, vascular reactivity and neurological abnormalities.  Prevention and treatment of atopic dermatitis should pay attention to removing the causes, avoiding and reducing provoking factors, relieving symptoms and preventing recurrence.  Patients should pay attention to the following aspects in daily life: 1, should avoid the use of alkaline soap, excessive overheating bathing, hard rubbing; after bathing the whole body to apply moisturizers or emollients to protect the skin, can reduce the recurrence of the disease.  2, avoid wearing woolen clothes, too tight and dirty clothes.  3, nails should be cut short and keep clean, avoid scratching. Sleep at night with cotton gloves to prevent scratching the skin.  4.Avoid the environment is too cold and too hot, use air humidifier in winter, pay attention to moisturizing and humidifying.  5.People with clear food allergy, avoid eating the food concerned.  6, dust mite allergy, you can use dust full mattress and pillowcase, use vacuum cleaner to clean indoor hygiene.  7.For those who are allergic to pets, remove the animals from the home or prevent them from entering.  8. Use topical ointment to relieve the condition and take medication to control itching during the attack period as prescribed by the doctor.
