Yi’an Ning Pill is used to treat chest tightness and shortness of breath, cold fear and cold limbs, numbness in the hands and feet, insomnia and forgetfulness, and weakness in the waist and knees due to deficiency of qi and blood and liver and kidney. If a patient with hypertension is identified as having weak qi and blood and liver and kidney deficiency, with clinical manifestations such as chest tightness and shortness of breath, cold fear and cold extremities, numbness in the hands and feet, insomnia and forgetfulness, and weakness in the waist and knees, he can take Yianning Pill if his blood pressure remains stable. However, Yi’an Ning Pill itself has no antihypertensive effect and should not be used for antihypertensive treatment. Patients with hypertension should take regular oral antihypertensive drugs, monitor blood pressure, eat a light diet, limit salt, quit smoking and alcohol to prevent complications. If the blood pressure is not well controlled, the occurrence of hypertensive complications can further aggravate the patient’s condition.
