How to treat presbyopia

Presbyopia is a physiological phenomenon caused by the natural aging of the body as we age, and can be treated by wearing presbyopic glasses, bifocal or multifocal glasses or surgery. If you choose to wear presbyopic glasses, you should go to a regular hospital or optician after the fitting before wearing, and review the degree every year. However, if you wear fancy glasses, it is inconvenient to see far away, and many people therefore have to alternate with multiple pairs of glasses. The second way is to wear bifocal (bifocal) glasses or multifocal progressive glasses, that is, a pair of glasses, the upper lens processing and polishing the corresponding degree for seeing far, and the lower lens processing and polishing the corresponding degree for seeing near, but it is difficult to adapt to when you first start wearing. For patients with cataracts, bifocal, multifocal or adjustable IOLs can be implanted along with ultrasonic cataract extraction to solve both distance and near vision problems, but these new surgeries are expensive and some are still in the clinical research stage, so the results of the surgeries are yet to be followed up for a long time. After the occurrence of presbyopia, depending on the daily needs of seeing near and far, simple presbyopic glasses or multifocal glasses can be prescribed, and patients with combined cataracts can be treated with bifocal, multifocal, or adjustable IOL implantation.
