Depending on the early and late stage of gastric cancer, the treatment of gastric cancer is mainly based on surgical treatment plan, along with integrated radiotherapy and targeted treatment. Surgery is the main treatment for gastric cancer, which can effectively remove cancerous lesions, possible metastatic lymph nodes and adjacent tissues and organs, and can fundamentally relieve symptoms and control the speed of metastasis. Surgery is also the only method to cure gastric cancer. For early stage gastric cancer with limited lesions and less lymph node metastasis, surgery can achieve good results. For patients who have lost the chance of surgery and recurrence after surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy is the main treatment option. Some related studies have shown that for some patients with late localized gastric cancer, pre-surgical neoadjuvant chemotherapy is beneficial to the implementation of surgery. According to the postoperative pathology, if it is progressive gastric cancer, postoperative chemotherapy is recommended. Gastric cancer is less sensitive to radiotherapy, which is less often used to relieve the local pain symptoms caused by advanced cancer. If the result of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, i.e. Her-2, is ++++ in postoperative pathology, it is more effective to use targeted therapy drug trastuzumab. In conclusion, once gastric cancer is detected, if the condition allows, surgery should be considered first and the next treatment should be decided according to the pathological stage after surgery.
