Time-related stroke prevention

Time medicine is the characteristic of TCM, the core content of the correspondence between heaven and man, and the group connotes the excellent cultural essence of the Chinese nation. Bio-rhythms are widely present in the structure and function of the body, which can be pulse rate, EEG, and also the rhythm of a day and night, month, year, and four seasons, especially circadian rhythm is the most obvious. It is proposed that regardless of ischemic stroke or hemorrhagic stroke. The onset of stroke has a certain rhythmical distribution in the 24h of the day, i.e., the peak of onset is in the middle of the night, while the onset is relatively low in the afternoon and the first half of the night. This suggests that in future daily life and clinical practice, interventions should be made in advance to reduce the incidence of stroke, such as drinking water before bedtime to reduce the viscosity of blood, keeping warm at night in winter, and paying special attention to the changes in the condition of hypertensive patients at night. All these are in line with the idea of prevention before illness and prevention of changes in existing illness in Chinese medicine, which provides reference for better prevention of stroke disease and its treatment and prognosis judgment in the future. To reduce the incidence of hemorrhagic stroke, clinical attention should be paid to the treatment and care during the noon hour.
