How to treat myasthenia gravis

The treatment of myasthenia gravis needs to be tailored to the cause. If myasthenia gravis is the cause, it can be treated with neostigmine and high-dose hormone therapy; if it is caused by acute Guillain-Barre syndrome, high-dose gammaglobulin therapy may be needed; and if it is caused by motor neuron disease, there is generally no specific and effective treatment.
1. Myasthenia gravis is a common cause of myasthenia gravis, and its treatment includes removal of the thymus gland, plasma exchange, and medication. Commonly used medications include brompheniramine, neostigmine, and high-dose hormones.
2. Acute Guillain-Barre Syndrome is due to demyelinating lesions of the peripheral nerves for various reasons, which causes muscle weakness, numbness and other symptoms. It can be treated with high-dose gammaglobulin.
3. There is no specific treatment for muscle weakness due to motor neuron disease. Although some medications, such as liraglutide, may have some effect, they cannot change the gradual progression of the disease. In addition to medication, fine life care, nutritional support therapy, and ventilator-assisted ventilation when the condition worsens may have a role in prolonging life.
It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital for consultation, and after the cause of muscle weakness is clarified, the doctor will take appropriate treatment according to the condition.
