Does having TB affect HIV testing?

Having tuberculosis will not affect the HIV test and vice versa. First of all, tuberculosis and AIDS are two completely different diseases. AIDS is a disease caused by the infection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), while tuberculosis is a disease induced by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The former is a virus and the latter is a bacterium, so the genetic material of the two diseases is completely different. Generally speaking, HIV antibody screening and complementary HIV screening tests are used to detect AIDS, and even if the patient has TB, only a small amount of blood can be drawn from the patient to detect AIDS, which is not affected by the TB disease. Tuberculosis screening involves looking for bacilli in sputum and performing a tuberculin test, and the two do not affect each other. Tuberculosis and AIDS are to a certain extent hand in hand to threaten the safety of human life, once diagnosed, we must actively face the scientific, rational use of medication, follow the doctor’s instructions, in order to minimize the loss of human health.
