What does cervical vinegar white epithelium mean?

Cervical vinegar white epithelium refers to a test method performed by a doctor using 3% acetic acid applied to the cervix. Normally the surface of the cervix is smooth when a woman has not applied the acetic acid test under colposcopy. If acetic acid is used, there may be whitening and swelling, most of which proves that the woman will have inflammation, septic epithelium or atypical hyperplasia at the cervix that is abnormal. A pathological biopsy will need to be taken under colposcopy to clarify the diagnosis. Cervical white acetate test is a commonly used test to screen for cervical lesions. It can detect cervical lesions earlier and give early medication or surgery to avoid cervical malignant lesions. Women need to exclude vaginal inflammation before having cervical white acetate test.
