How to treat gastric fundus varices in cirrhosis

The treatment of cirrhotic fundic varices is mainly divided into two parts: the first one is drug treatment, the most commonly used drug is non-selective beta-blocker, the most commonly used drug is propranolol, which mainly reduces the pressure of the portal vein and decreases the cirrhotic fundic varices. The second type, interventional surgery, is currently more common esophageal varices ligation, esophageal varices inside the injection of sclerosing agent, tissue adhesive injection treatment. In recent years, the more commonly used treatment option is interventional therapy, i.e. TIPS, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt, which is an interventional procedure that can effectively reduce the pressure of the portal vein and alleviate cirrhotic fundic varices.
