Children stirring their legs may be caused by physiological and pathological factors, and pathological factors may be caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, vitamin D deficiency and other reasons.
1. Physiological factors: usually if the child’s mental state, eating, sleeping and other aspects of normal, then stirring legs is just a behavioral habit, parents do not have to worry too much.
2. Pathologic factors:
(1) gastrointestinal dysfunction: if the child, in addition to stirring his legs, also suffers from abdominal distension, exhaustion and crying, etc., it may be caused by gastrointestinal dysfunction, because the child’s stomach is not comfortable, resulting in stirring the legs phenomenon.
(2) Vitamin D deficiency: In addition to stirrups, if the child is accompanied by other symptoms, such as waking up at night, crying and sweating, etc., may be caused by vitamin D deficiency.
There may be other reasons for children’s stirrups, parents are advised to take their children to the doctor in time to clarify the cause, and give targeted treatment or therapy.
