Wu Ling San contains Poria, Poria, Atractylodes Macrocephala, Zedoaria, Cinnamon, with the effect of warming yang and transforming qi (warming yang qi in the body), and inducing dampness and promoting water movement, it can be used for the treatment of oedema caused by yang not transforming qi (the human body’s qi is blocked), and water-dampness stopping inside (water-dampness stays in the body), with symptoms of urinary incontinence (urine not smooth), oedema and abdominal bloating, vomiting, retching and diarrhea, etc. Adverse effects and contraindications of the drug are not clear. Clearing heat and dispelling dampness granules contain Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus, Cangzhu, Yin Chen and other traditional Chinese medicines, with the effect of clearing heat and dispelling dampness, benefiting qi and generating fluids (by replenishing the qi to promote the production of fluids), and can be used for the treatment of summer and dampness caused by fatigue of the limbs, loss of appetite, heat and dry mouth, etc. The adverse effects of this drug are not clear, but diabetics are prohibited from taking it. Dampness should be treated under the guidance of the physician’s diagnosis, not blindly self-medication.
