The gastrointestinal reaction of nausea or even vomiting after hysteroscopy without anesthesia or hysteroscopic surgery may usually be the result of increased vagal excitability caused by cervical pull during hysteroscopy, or pain or local irritation during the surgery, which results in a reaction similar to abortion syndrome, with possible nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and even bradycardia, tightness in the chest, profuse sweating, or even a drop in blood pressure, coma, convulsions, etc. Again, this is related to the patient’s emotional as well as physical condition. Nowadays, intravenous anesthesia is often used for hysteroscopy or small surgeries, and general anesthesia is usually used for large surgeries, and postoperative nausea and vomiting may also occur, which may be related to gastrointestinal irritation from anesthetic drugs, or due to laryngeal irritation caused by general anesthesia tracheal intubation. However, these adverse reactions do not last very long, usually to be appropriate symptomatic treatment, the patient can quickly return to normal.
