Astragalus can be used in the treatment of qi deficiency, edema and urination, blood leakage (excessive menstrual flow or dripping), prolonged diarrhea and prolapse of the anus, qi deficiency and edema, coughing and shortness of breath, surface deficiency and spontaneous sweating (due to the weakness of the surface of the muscles and frequent natural sweating), deficiency of qi and blood, paralysis and numbness, and prolonged sores that are not converged.
Astragalus is slightly warm in nature, and should not be used in cases where there is a strong evil on the surface, internal stagnation, yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang, heat and poison after ulceration or at the beginning of sores and ulcers.
