Children’s body weakness and excessive sweating can be regulated by oral medication and moxibustion.
1. Oral medicines: commonly used medicines include Yubingfeng Granules and Gui Spleen Pills.
Yubingfeng Granules, composed of Astragalus, Fenghuang, Atractylodes Macrocephala (fried). It is used for those who suffer from spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the day, aggravated by the slightest movement of sweating) caused by deficiency of the epidermis (weak muscle epidermis leading to abnormal sweating out), malignant winds, whitish color (white and without luster), or those who are weak and easily susceptible to wind evils. Avoid oily food while taking the medicine.
Gui Spleen Pill, composed of Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae, Fried Atractylodes Macrocephalae, Roasted Astragalus, Roasted Glycyrrhiza, Poria, Prepared Polygala, and Fried Jujube Seed. It is used for shortness of breath and palpitation caused by deficiency of heart and spleen, insomnia and dreaminess, dizziness and lightheadedness, tiredness and fatigue, and loss of appetite. Adverse effects: may cause digestive discomfort and skin rash.
2. Moxibustion: commonly used acupoints include Shenque, Yongquan, Maijiao, Sanyinjiao, Yinqie, Fuxiao, Taichong, Neiguan, etc. If medication is needed, it should be prescribed by a doctor.
