Hepatic fibroproliferative nodules are a manifestation of fibrous tissue proliferation in the liver and are considered to be related to hepatitis B, liver encrustation, cirrhosis and liver cancer. Hepatitis B, liver cysticercosis, cirrhosis or liver cancer can damage liver cells, causing cell death and atrophy, resulting in abnormal liver fibroplasia, which leads to disruption of the arrangement of hepatic trabeculae and disrupts the normal liver structure, resulting in the formation of hepatic fibroproliferative nodules. Most of the hepatic fibroproliferative nodules are benign lesions, which can be temporarily observed and only need to be treated for the primary disease without special treatment. However, if the nodules are malignant due to hepatocellular carcinoma, surgical treatment is required. Hepatic fibroproliferative nodules may also be related to other causes, which need to be clarified and treated under doctor’s guidance.
