What to do if you develop gingivitis with a fixed denture

If gum inflammation occurs after a fixed denture is put in, the first step is to determine the main cause of the inflammation. If the gingival inflammation is caused solely by poor oral hygiene, the patient is required to maintain oral hygiene and undergo regular periodontal treatment for maintenance. If it is caused by fixed denture, it should be solved by removing the irritating factors, such as removing the excess adhesive that has not been removed, removing the overflowing excess adhesive, and if it is due to the defect of fixed denture fabrication, removing the irritating factors for recovery by grinding the edge of fixed denture with flying edges or grinding the overlong edges, polishing, etc. If there is no way to perform high polishing, if there is a gap between the bridge and the mucosa of the alveolar ridge or if the bridge presses the mucosa too tightly and causes gum inflammation, it is recommended to recreate the fixed denture to improve the inflammation of the gums.
