A 7 year old child with a spherical lens -50 is indeed myopic. If the eye is examined before dilatation of the spherical lens, most of the myopia is pseudomyopia, caused by ciliary spasm. In the case of spherical lenses after pupil dilation, most of the myopia is true myopia, caused by the growth of the eye axis. A myopia of 50 degrees will have less impact on your child’s vision. If the myopia is pseudomyopia, you need to relieve ciliary muscle spasm through rational eye use, eye topical drops such as 0.01% atropine eye drops and other methods of dilated eye drops and other methods of active treatment.
