How to care for psoriasis in special areas?

  Psoriasis is a relapsing, chronic disease of unknown etiology. The skin damage is either papular or scaly, with erythema, blisters or pustules. The prevalence rate is different in Eastern and Western countries, ranging from 1% to 2% in Europe and the United States, and 0.47% in China, where it is estimated that there are 6.5 million patients, and the trend is gradually increasing. It mostly occurs in winter and spring, and is heavier in winter and lighter in summer. Psoriasis is a polygenic hereditary disease in which genetic factors and environmental factors act together, and it is currently considered an autoimmune disease. Among them, genetic factors, psychiatric factors, streptococcal infections, and drug triggers play a role in the development of psoriasis.  The scalp is the most common site where psoriasis occurs. 65.7% of patients will have scalp symptoms and 46.9% of patients will have their first episode on the scalp. Many patients have initial onset on the scalp, which is easily misdiagnosed as seborrheic dermatitis. Most patients with psoriasis of the head may develop tufts of hair without hair loss. In severe patients, hair loss can also occur and may be associated with scratching. It has also been found that certain patients with psoriasis have denser and more rapid hair growth at the psoriatic lesions.  Treatment methods for scalp psoriasis: topical medication; physiotherapy; systemic therapy. Treatment principles: most of them are based on topical treatment drugs. For example, carbotriol (Darex) and zinc pyrithione (Sinequan).  Use of Darex: Tilt the head back and apply a few drops of Darex directly to the lesions and rub gently. Apply once in the morning and once in the evening. The course of treatment is 8 weeks, and the weekly dosage should not exceed 60 ml. How to carry out hair care?  1.Be gentle when shampooing and drying hair, avoid scratching the plaque.  2.In addition to the medicated shampoo recommended by the doctor, you can use ordinary shampoo to help restore the natural balance of the scalp.    3.Pay attention to thoroughly drying behind the ear and the front and back of the earlobe.  4.Do not use the hottest setting of hairdryer, do not use curling iron or curlers to avoid pulling hair.  What do you recommend for hairstyles?    It is best to avoid hairstyles that add burden to the scalp such as backcombing and tying the ponytail too tightly.  If the plaques on the scalp are severe, short hair may be more comfortable and convenient.    If psoriasis flares on the scalp, it is best not to perm or dye your hair until the plaques have healed.  The nail is also a more commonly affected area by psoriasis. Nail psoriasis lesions appear as pitting nail separation nail thickening nail plate discoloration. Or carbotriol + betamethasone (Dex) applied topically to the nail twice daily for 6 months. Apply topically to the nail fold and subcutaneous nail. How do I protect my hands and nails? Keep your nails as dry as possible. After each hand washing, try to dry them to avoid their penetration below the nail plate. If the skin around the nail appears red or swollen, check for infection. Be gentle when cutting your nails, and be especially careful with cuticles.
