How to tell if a kidney tumor is benign or malignant

Patients with kidney tumors can initially distinguish whether the tumor is benign or malignant by means of ultrasound, CT and other imaging tests. If you want to get a clear diagnosis, pathology testing is needed.

When kidney tumor patients undergo ultrasound, CT, MRI and other imaging examinations, they can initially judge the nature, size and boundary of the tumor through the examination results. If the tumor is suspected to have the possibility of malignant transformation after the imaging examination, pathological testing can be carried out according to the doctor’s instruction. The diseased tissue will be made into sections and then put under the microscope to observe and diagnose whether it is malignant.

If the result of pathological test is malignant, it means that the kidney tumor has malignant transformation, i.e. suffering from kidney cancer. In this case, surgical treatment, chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be used as prescribed by doctors. If surgical treatment is carried out at the early stage of the disease, there is a certain chance that the disease will be cured.

It is recommended that patients with kidney tumor should go to hospital for relevant examination in time to determine the nature of the tumor. If the tumor is malignant, early detection and treatment are needed to avoid delaying the disease.
