Are tofacitib citrate tablets effective for scleroderma?



The current indication for tofacitibine citrate tablets is rheumatoid arthritis, which is temporarily not indicated for scleroderma, which can be treated with hormones and immunosuppressive agents.

Tofacitib citrate tablets are an oral protein tyrosine kinase inhibitor indicated for moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis in which methotrexate is not sufficiently efficacious or cannot tolerate methotrexate therapy. It is not currently approved for the treatment of scleroderma and its efficacy in scleroderma is unknown.

The drug may cause serious infections, gastrointestinal perforation and other adverse reactions. It is contraindicated in people who are allergic to the drug.
