Luo Jing, the host of CCTV News, died of lymphoma at the age of 48. On hearing this news, people were deeply saddened and also amazed by the danger of lymphoma, which took less than 9 months from the time of diagnosis to the time of death. What kind of lymphoma is it? How can we detect it early? Lymphoma is a malignant tumor originating from lymph nodes or lymphatic tissues, and is a fast-growing cancer in recent years. Clinically, the incidence of lymphoma tends to be younger and the incidence rate is increasing year by year, and there are more men than women. The high incidence age of lymphoma is 40-50 years old and the average age of death is <50 years old, and the disease has become one of the most important diseases affecting human health. In addition to Luo Jing, the famous patriot Fok Ying Tung was also killed by this disease. According to the data reported by the International Lymphoma Conference, there is 1 new case every 9 minutes worldwide, 45,000 new cases and more than 20,000 deaths in China every year, and it takes the 9th place among men and the 10th place among women in the ranking of malignant tumor incidence, and the 3rd place among childhood malignant tumors. According to pathological typing, lymphoma can be divided into two categories: Hodgkin's lymphoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The incidence of Hodgkin's lymphoma is relatively stable, with some decline in incidence in some areas. However, the incidence of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is continuously increasing, and surveys have found that the incidence is higher in coastal areas of China than inland areas, and in economically developed areas than in underdeveloped areas. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, from which Jing Luo suffers, is the most common type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, accounting for 25-30% of non-Hodgkin's lymphomas in adults. It is seen in all age groups, but is more common between the ages of 40 and 50. Clinically, patients often present with rapidly enlarging lymph nodes, with bone marrow invasion in 10-15% of patients and extra-lymph node lesions in 40%-50% of patients. The disease progresses rapidly and survival is less than one year if not treated aggressively. Long-term fever and swollen lymph nodes are signals The early symptoms of lymphoma are "very good at disguise", similar to the common cold, patients mostly have fever, swollen tonsils and other "cold" symptoms, in addition, painless swelling of lymph nodes in the neck, armpit or groin. Zou Qingfeng reminded that if painless swelling of lymph nodes, increased body temperature (especially at night), weight loss, itchy skin, swollen tonsils and night sweats appear within a month, you need to be especially alert. Especially for middle-aged and young people, if they develop painless lymph node enlargement or unexplained fever, they should promptly go to the hospital for examination to confirm the diagnosis. The early symptoms of the two types of lymphoma are not exactly the same. Hodgkin's lymphoma is most common in young people, and the first symptom is often painless enlargement of lymph nodes in the neck or supraclavicular area (60%-80% of cases). This is followed by swollen axillary lymph nodes and swollen deep lymph nodes. In 30%-50% of Hodgkin's patients, the main symptom is a persistent or periodic fever of unknown origin, which may be accompanied by general symptoms such as night sweats, fatigue and weight loss. Most non-Hodgkin's lymphomas also have painless cervical and supraclavicular lymph node enlargement as the first manifestation, but generally develop rapidly and are prone to distant spread, with involvement of the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow and central nervous system, and manifestations of corresponding organ involvement. The diagnosis of malignant lymphoma is mainly based on clinical manifestations, imaging and pathological examinations. Definitive diagnosis requires pathological examination of lymph nodes at the suspected lesion site, which is the most reliable means to confirm the diagnosis of lymphoma. The causes of lymphoma are not yet completely clear, but may be related to the aggravation of environmental pollution, the accelerated pace of life, the increased work pressure of office workers, and the prolonged exposure to electronic radiation such as cell phones and computers, frequent hair dyeing, the excessive academic burden of students, and the use of non-environmentally friendly decorative materials at home. Protecting, avoiding and controlling these factors, paying attention to proper exercise, regular life and diet, and not drinking and smoking are of certain significance to prevent the occurrence of malignant lymphoma. Lymphoma can appear in all parts of the body The lymphatic system is an important defense system of the body, which can help the body fight against germs and protect us from diseases, so it is called the "army" of the human body. Lymphatic tissue can be found wherever there is body fluid, which means that lymphoma can appear all over the body, such as brain lymphoma, lung lymphoma, intestinal and gastric lymphoma, oral lymphoma, etc.
