Difference between gallbladder folds and attached gallbladder stones

Gallbladder folds and attached gallbladder stones are differentiated in terms of pathology, etiology, and treatment. Both are mostly without clinical manifestations and are often found on physical examination.
1.Pathology:
(1) Gallbladder folds: also known as gallbladder furrowing, is a manifestation of inflammation due to infection.
(2) Attached wall gallbladder stones: also known as intermural gallbladder stones, they are stones embedded in the wall of the gallbladder and are a special type of gallbladder stones.
2.Etiology:
(1) Gallbladder folds: caused by poor bile excretion and bile stasis in the gallbladder, which can be seen in chronic cholecystitis and other diseases.
(2) Attached wall gallbladder stones: a secondary change, in the gallbladder mucosa in the part of the epithelial tissue subsidence to form the Roa’s sinus, and the gallbladder lumen, the sinus of the residual bile long-term deposition of the formation of stones.
3.Treatment:
(1) gallbladder folds: need to adjust dietary habits, control to reduce the intake of high cholesterol food, avoid eating too much greasy food. Regular review of liver and gallbladder ultrasound.
(2) Attached wall gallbladder stones: If the stones are small and without clinical symptoms, no special treatment is needed and regular follow-up is sufficient. If the stones are large and show signs of cholecystitis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy is needed.
The difference between crural gallbladder and appendicular gallbladder stones needs to be guided by a specialized doctor.
