GBM is glomerular basement membrane, diffuse thickening of glomerular basement membrane, may be caused by membranous nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy and other diseases.
1. Membranous nephropathy: When primary or secondary membranous nephropathy occurs, due to a large number of autoimmune complexes deposited in various parts of the glomerular basement membrane, thickening of the basement membrane can be seen in pathological examination, while typical double-tracked or chained rings can be seen in some cases. Clinical manifestations include large amount of proteinuria, abnormal blood pressure, hypoproteinemia and so on.
2. Diabetic nephropathy: when this disease occurs, renal puncture biopsy can see diffuse uniform thickening of glomerular basement membrane, and if further immunofluorescence complex examination, IgG, albumin and other substances can be seen to be deposited along the basement membrane in a linear pattern, and clinical symptoms such as hypertension, edema and proteinuria may occur.
If any of the above pathologic manifestations or symptoms occur, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time.
