Pharmacopoeia does not specify that Cangzhu can not be paired with traditional Chinese medicine, used in clinical practice should be based on the patient’s condition with medication. Cangzhu is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, for the chrysanthemum plant that Cangzhu or northern Cangzhu dry rhizome. Its flavor is pungent, bitter, warm; to the spleen, stomach, liver meridian. It has the effects of drying dampness and strengthening the spleen, dispelling wind and dispersing cold (expelling wind and dispelling cold), and brightening the eyes. Cangzhu is used in the treatment of dampness obstruction in the middle jiao (dampness impeding the function of the spleen and stomach), epigastric (abdominal) distension, diarrhea, edema, rheumatic paralysis, wind-cold flu, night blindness and dimness of the eyes. The adverse effects and contraindications of this drug are not clear. Clinically, Cangzhu can be used with many traditional Chinese medicines, and the drugs that cannot be used together are not clear. For example, it can be used with Houpu and Chenpi to treat nausea and vomiting caused by dampness obstruction in the middle jiao and loss of healthy movement of the spleen, as well as weak and diarrhea; it can also be used with Coix lacryma and Duhuo to treat rheumatism paralysis caused by the partial victory of dampness. Chinese medicine should be used under the guidance of a professional Chinese medicine practitioner, and should not be used blindly on its own to avoid adverse reactions.
