Free genetic diagnosis of hemophilia

International Rare Disease Day (Change begins with diagnosis) — Free genetic diagnosis of hemophilia is here! The International Rare Disease Day (RIDD) was initiated by EURORDIS in 2008, which established February 29th as the International Rare Disease Day, because it means “rare” once every four years. Since then, countries have agreed to designate the last day of February as International Rare Disease Day. According to medical literature, every healthy person carries 5-10 defective genes, and men and women who carry the same defective gene may have a baby with the disease if they marry. Although the probability of meeting is only 1 in 10,000, the probability of having a child with the disease is 25% for the families who encounter it. The Center for Genetic and Prenatal Diagnosis at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University is one of the largest genetic testing facilities for genetic diseases in China and is currently able to test for more than 600 genetic diseases. Hemophilia is the most common hereditary blood clotting disorder, including three types of hemophilia, hemophilia A (HA), hemophilia B (HB) and hemophilia C (HC). Genetic testing can help to confirm the diagnosis of hemophilia, identify the mutation site and provide fertility guidance to avoid having another child with hemophilia. On International Rare Disease Day (February 29), the Center will offer a free hemophilia genetic test package worth 3900 RMB to 10 hemophiliacs/hemophiliacs at risk who meet one of the following criteria: clinically diagnosed with hemophilia/having a history of having children with hemophilia, free test pre-certification/clinicians The hemophilia test is available to those who are clinically diagnosed with hemophilia/have a history of having a child with hemophilia, and who have been diagnosed by a clinician with suspected hemophilia.
