Synvenin, known by the drug name tirofiban hydrochloride, is a reversible antagonist of platelet glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptors with inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation. Synephrine is often used in combination with heparin in cases of unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, prevention of myocardial ischemia, and preoperative preparation for PCI surgery in patients with acute coronary syndromes. The greatest side effect of this product is bleeding reaction and should be contraindicated in patients with active internal bleeding, history of intracranial hemorrhage, intracranial tumors, arteriovenous malformations, thrombocytopenia and aneurysms. It is important to monitor blood work and observe changes in platelet count during administration.
