The success rate is higher when patients with balanced chromosomal translocations undergo third generation IVF, the same as those who do not have balanced translocations, but the success rate is lower with other IVF methods. The third generation IVF technique allows for genetic diagnosis of the embryos so that the embryos transferred to the mother are healthy and free of genetic defects. For patients with balanced chromosomal translocations, the technique of third-generation IVF is the most suitable to help them achieve eugenics, with a higher chance of success, comparable to the success rate of patients with normal chromosomes. However, if patients use other methods of IVF, the success rate is relatively low, and therefore is not recommended. In order to improve the success rate of IVF, it is recommended that patients seek medical treatment in time and under the guidance of doctors for standardized treatment.
