Why is it still bleeding after a few days of progesterone?

Generally speaking, progesterone can be used for uterine bleeding caused by lack of progesterone. If the bleeding still occurs after a few days of progesterone, it is mostly considered to be caused by factors such as shorter duration of the medication and the patient’s insensitivity to the medication.
Progesterone is commonly used in preeclampsia, habitual abortion, ovulation bleeding, functional uterine bleeding, etc. However, the specific time to stop bleeding varies from person to person, each person’s sensitivity to the drug as well as the amount of bleeding is not the same, usually in 3-7 days can stop bleeding. Importantly, it should be used under the guidance of a doctor, never blindly self-medication.
For non-pregnant women, treatment with progesterone will generally stop bleeding in 3-5 days if the bleeding is low, and may take 5-7 days to stop if the bleeding is heavy.
For women during pregnancy, treatment with progesterone to keep the pregnancy alive usually stops the bleeding in about 5-7 days.
If the bleeding continues for more than 7 days with progesterone, then prompt medical attention is recommended to identify the cause and choose a more appropriate treatment.
