Terazosin Hydrochloride Tablets are indicated for the treatment of mild or moderate hypertension to lower diastolic blood pressure, either in combination with thiazide diuretics or other anti-hypertensive drugs, or alone when other drugs are not indicated or are ineffective. The drug may also be used to treat symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. The drug may cause adverse reactions such as palpitations, weakness, nausea, vertigo, drowsiness, nasal congestion, rhinitis, blurred vision, and peripheral edema. The drug is contraindicated in people who are sensitive to alpha adrenergic receptor antagonists, pregnant women, and breastfeeding should be discontinued in lactating women when using this product. It should be noted that the drug should be reduced in combination with thiazide diuretics and care should be taken to prevent hypotension; the drug is not used in patients with a history of urinary syncope; dizziness, mild headache or drowsiness may occur with the first dose or with re-administration after discontinuation, and it is recommended that driving or hazardous work should be avoided within 12 hours of giving the initial dose. Patients who need to take this medication are advised to take it under the supervision of a physician.
