In general, cataract surgery wounds usually take about 1 month to heal. Cataracts are usually due to degenerative changes in the optical quality of the lens due to various causes. Patients may experience significant vision loss, refractive changes, and visual field defects. Most patients are treated with cataract ultrasonic emulsification aspiration combined with IOL implantation. The principle of the surgery is to make a small incision in the patient’s eye, use ultrasonic vibration to break up and suck out the cloudy lens, and then implant an IOL to achieve the treatment purpose. The incision is usually made at the edge of the cornea and recovery usually takes about a month, with the IOL stabilizing in about three months. Therefore, cataract surgery patients should actively take good care of their eyes and go to the hospital in time if they experience any obvious discomfort after the surgery.
