How many days after menstruation can I have an IUD?

Under normal circumstances, the time for IUD placement is within 3-7 days after menstruation, when the endometrium is thin and bleeding is less during the IUD procedure. IUD placement is suitable for women of childbearing age who have no contraindications and who voluntarily request placement. If the patient is in the acute phase of inflammation or has irregular vaginal bleeding or poor cervical condition, the IUD cannot be placed temporarily. If the IUD is placed during other phases of the menstrual cycle, such as the luteal phase, the endometrium is thicker and may bleed more during the IUD procedure, damaging the endometrium and possibly inducing endometriosis and causing menstrual pain later. Women should avoid sexual intercourse within half a month after IUI, pay attention to more rest, prohibit heavy lifting, and if symptoms such as abdominal cramping occur, problems such as prolapse and uterine cavity infection should be ruled out, while avoiding inflammatory stimulation.
