Do hemostatic sponges melt away on their own?

Specialized hemostatic sponges are usually made of absorbable gelatin that is able to melt away on its own. Hemostatic sponges work by applying pressure to stop bleeding, absorb bleeding and exudate from the wound, and have the ability to promote tissue healing. This sponge used for hemostasis is different from ordinary sponges in that it is made of absorbable material that does not cause significant irritation to the tissues. There is no need to remove the sponge after use, and as the wound heals, the sponge is gradually absorbed until it disappears. If there is bleeding from the tissue, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time, and after sufficient debridement and other operations, use the hemostatic sponge under the guidance of the doctor, under normal circumstances, usually 10-15 days of time can be melted away, but avoid unauthorized use to avoid delays in the condition.
