More than 90% of rectal cancers are misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids in the early stage, how can they be distinguished from each other?

People eat grains and cereals, destined to involve the “eat, drink, shit” these four verbs, but there is an embarrassing thing, men and women are not good to talk about it, not willing to talk about it. But do you know, this in your opinion may not be so serious embarrassing things, but in fact hidden this great health risks! You have experienced blood in the stool, don’t be embarrassed, let’s go head to head with this embarrassing thing today! ”Blood in the stool” hidden what mysterious? When it comes to blood in the stool, people may think that it is hemorrhoids, and then serious may be intestinal polyps! In fact, blood in the stool is a very common symptom, according to the different parts of the bleeding, the amount of bleeding, bleeding speed is different, the color of the blood will be different. Blood in the stool is bright red, dark red, or black. In fact, blood in stool is not a disease, but a clinical symptom that can occur in many diseases. However, most blood in the stool is indicative of a lesion in the anus! The three most common cases are hemorrhoids, rectal cancer, and intestinal polyps. Among them, rectal cancer is the most serious! According to some information, rectal cancer has jumped to the second place in the list of cancer. Rectal cancer develops between 30-60 years old, more men than women, and blood in stool is one of the common symptoms of rectal cancer. Rectal cancer has now become the most common malignant tumor affecting Chinese people’s health. What’s worse, more than 90% of rectal cancer cases are misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids in the early stage, which delays the best treatment period! Rectal cancer, who has been delayed?   The consequences of misdiagnosis of rectal cancer as hemorrhoids are serious, but why so many people will be misdiagnosed? This is partly due to patients’ self-misdiagnosis and partly due to medical personnel’s speculation. The main reason is that the clinical manifestations of rectal cancer and hemorrhoids have many similarities, such as blood in stool and increased frequency of stool, which makes rectal cancer easy to be misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids in the early stage. So, what kind of blood in stool is rectal cancer? What is the difference between it and hemorrhoids? First of all, it is age. Hemorrhoids can happen to people of any age, while rectal cancer patients are mostly middle-aged or elderly. Because rectal cancer, like other cancers, takes time to develop, and although there is a trend towards younger people, it mostly occurs in middle-aged or older people! The second thing is the blood in the stool. Hemorrhoid patients have blood in their stool because they rub the affected area during defecation, and most of the blood drips down with the stool discharge, so the blood does not mix with the stool, it is bright red, and there is no mucus present. In contrast, the stools of rectal cancer patients are often mixed with blood, mucus and thick liquid, and are generally darker than the blood of hemorrhoids! Furthermore, it is the frequency of bowel movement. Patients with rectal cancer have significantly changed their bowel habits and have more frequent bowel movements, while hemorrhoids do not have a change in bowel habits. In addition, patients with diarrhea will have bowel movements many times a day, and if the diarrhea cannot be alleviated even after medication is administered, special attention should also be paid. Finally, pay attention to the sound. When rectal cancer causes intestinal obstruction, the abdomen will swell, and there will be sounds in the intestines and hyperactive bowel sounds. Of course, these symptoms can only give you a preliminary understanding, once you find such symptoms, you should go to the hospital for rectal examination and proctoscopy! Can hemorrhoids become rectal cancer?   Hemorrhoids and tumors are two diseases of different nature. Hemorrhoid is simply a dilatation and proliferation of blood vessels and surrounding tissues under the skin of the anal verge, while tumor is an abnormal proliferation change of colorectal mucosa. To make a simple analogy: an enlarged hemorrhoid is like a watermelon with more and more flesh and bigger volume inside; while a tumor is a keloid that grows on the rind of the watermelon. One is a matter of the flesh and the other is a matter of the skin, which are two different things. Therefore, generally speaking, hemorrhoids will not turn into rectal cancer. Of course, we couldn’t care less about hemorrhoids! Compared to this rectal cancer, hemorrhoids are not as serious, but there are many people who have them! The fact that the body is in a fixed position for a long time due to sitting, standing and straining will affect the blood circulation, slowing the blood flow in the pelvis and congestion of the abdominal organs, causing the hemorrhoid veins to overfill, varicose, bulge and decrease the tension of the vein walls, which is one of the important reasons for the development of hemorrhoids. So it seems that hemorrhoids are still a varicose vein! Why? Aren’t varicose veins always in the legs? In fact, we know that humans first crawled, and then as our lives changed, we gradually moved from walking upright to later sitting! The lowest point of our blood at this time is at the lowest point of our sitting, that is, the location of the anus! And, the veins near the anus are like this long balloon, after sitting for a long time will easily become curled up, blood does not flow back, and over time will form hemorrhoids! Of course, the hemorrhoid itself is not a big deal, but once the hemorrhoid is under pressure, because it is a vein, the vein ruptures and bleeds more than easily cause shock! So, we can’t be sloppy with hemorrhoids! Blood in the stool may also be caused by intestinal polyps! Blood in the stool, in addition to hemorrhoids, rectal cancer, intestinal polyps is also can not be ignored! The common symptoms of intestinal polyps are bright red blood, not much blood, mixed with mucus, blood is mostly on the surface of the stool. If the amount of bleeding is large, or bleeding for a long time, can cause wasting, anemia and other symptoms. We know that the large intestine needs to absorb the water in the food residue and form the food residue into feces and have a degree of discharge, and once the polyp grows, it will also produce abdominal stuffiness and discomfort, hidden pain or abdominal pain symptoms. Therefore, when such a symptom occurs, we must go to the hospital for examination, otherwise it is easy to develop cancer.
