Why is gout always in the left foot?

Gout does not always involve pain in the left foot; pain can occur in the joints of the hands and feet bilaterally. Gout is a group of diseases caused by disordered purine metabolism or impaired excretion of uric acid in the body, which is clinically characterized by elevated serum uric acid, arthritis, gouty stones, joint deformities and renal disease. Among them, gout stone is the characteristic clinical manifestation of gout, which can appear in the auricle, around the joints all over the body, etc., and also cause pain. Patients with gout may also develop acute arthritis, often starting at midnight or early in the morning, with the joints feeling unbearably painful, with the unilateral first metatarsophalangeal joint being the most common, but not always appearing on the left side, but also on the right. Redness, swelling, heat, pain and dysfunction may occur in the affected joints. Patients with gout are advised to consult the Rheumatology Department in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor for standardized treatment and regular follow-up.
