Myopia and presbyopia are different types of diseases and do not cancel each other out. Myopia is a refractive error that causes blurred vision of distant objects and normal near vision. Presbyopia is a condition in which the lens hardens with age and the eye’s ability to adjust decreases, resulting in blurred vision of near objects. The two diseases have different causes and do not cancel each other out. Patients may experience blurring of both near and far vision. As we age, myopia and presbyopia can co-exist and patients usually need two fu glasses to promote vision improvement. It is recommended that patients with myopia and presbyopia seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow their doctor’s instructions.
