What is the best treatment period for Kawasaki disease

There is no such thing as the best treatment period for Kawasaki disease. Kawasaki disease should be detected and treated early to avoid cardiovascular complications caused by untimely treatment. Kawasaki disease is a self-limiting disease with a favorable prognosis for most children, with recurrence in about 1%-3%. The probability of coronary artery disease increases in untreated children. If left untreated, some children may develop concomitant heart disease and have a poorer prognosis. The initial goals of treatment are to control inflammation, reduce coronary artery damage, and prevent coronary artery tumor formation and thromboembolism. Once the diagnosis is made, treatment should begin as soon as possible. Follow-up of children with Kawasaki disease based on coronary artery disease is important to improve prognosis. Patients with coronary artery disease that persists after one month require lifelong follow-up.
