Drumming sound inside the ear may be related to diseases such as tympanic ventricular somatotumor, abnormal opening of the eustachian tube, and dural arteriovenous fistula.
1. Tumor of the tympanic ventricle: This disease is a chemoreceptor tumor limited to the tympanic ventricle originating from the tympanic ventricular branch of the glossopharyngeal nerve and the auricular branch of the vagus nerve, which grows mainly in the tympanic ventricle in the early stage. A drumming sound may be produced by the pulsation of the tumor.
2. Abnormal opening of Eustachian tube: when the Eustachian tube is often open or over-open due to various reasons, it can cause low-pitched tinnitus, such as wind-like “whistling” sound, which is in line with respiratory rhythm and similar to the sound of beating drum.
3. Dural arteriovenous fistula: this disease may be secondary to the dural venous sinus thrombosis or sinus cavity closure, fistula by the sinus wall of the rich network of small arteries and venous sinus or small veins between the formation of many tiny traffic branch. As the diseased venous sinus receives blood flow directly from the artery, retrograde blood flow is easily formed, and pulsatile tinnitus is caused.
Drumming sound inside the ear may also be due to neurogenic tinnitus, can actively seek medical systematic examination, in order to clarify the diagnosis and cause.
