Postpartum qi and blood insufficiency should consult a professional Chinese medicine practitioner for evidence-based treatment, and commonly used treatments include medication, acupuncture and moxibustion.
1. Medication: Medication is the main treatment for qi and blood deficiency.
Bazhen Pill has the effect of tonifying qi and benefiting blood. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear.
Shiquan Dazhuang Pill is used for patients with deficiency of qi and blood accompanied by hypothermia of the limbs and pallor of the face, and the adverse reactions of this product are not clear. Pregnant women should not take. It is contraindicated for those who are physically strong and solid but not deficient.
Gui Shen Wan is mainly used for patients with deficiency of qi and blood, accompanied by insomnia and forgetfulness, palpitation (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic) and dysarthria (violent heartbeat, panic and restlessness). It has adverse reactions of gastrointestinal discomfort and skin rash, and contraindications are unclear.
2. Acupuncture treatment: generally use Baihui, Guanyuan, Shenque, Ashigaru, Sanyinjiao and other points. Acupuncture treatment needs to be operated by professional physicians.
It is recommended that when qi and blood deficiencies occur after childbirth, they should go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment, rather than using medication or acupuncture on their own.
