Is epilepsy prone to seizures on rainy days

Epilepsy is relatively prone to seizures in rainy weather.
Epilepsy is caused by abnormal discharges in parts of the brain, and the types of seizures epileptic grand mal, partial seizures, and catatonic seizures. The triggers for epileptic attacks are weather changes, excessive drinking, hyperventilation, alcohol consumption, insomnia, overwork and starvation, and mood swings. So rainy days or when the weather is too hot may also cause acute seizures.
Weather does not seem to be directly related to seizures, but in clinical practice, some patients do feel that rainy days, especially in spring and fall, or sudden changes in the weather can easily trigger seizures. In addition, weather changes may affect the secretion of certain hormones in the body, which are associated with seizures.
Irregular medication may also cause recurrence of epilepsy. Taking anti-epileptic drugs on time, keeping a calm mind, avoiding overeating or irregular diet, not staying up all night, quitting smoking and drinking, and reducing the triggers of epileptic seizures can reduce the recurrence of the disease.
Patients with epilepsy should follow professional medical advice and be seen on time.
