How long does it usually take for a recurrence to occur after a radiofrequency ablation procedure?

The time of recurrence after radiofrequency ablation cannot be specified and may be related to the patient’s own condition, type of disease, etc. There is a certain recurrence rate after radiofrequency ablation, which may be a few days after surgery, or a decade or even decades. Among them, RF ablation for supraventricular tachycardia is the most mature RF ablation procedure, and the recurrence rate is very low, about 1-2%; the recurrence rate of RF ablation for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation is about 10%-20%; the recurrence rate of RF ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation is about 20%-30%; the recurrence rate of RF ablation for partial ventricular premature and ventricular tachycardia is about 20%. If the patient has a longer onset time or has coronary heart disease, valve disease and other diseases, the recurrence rate after radiofrequency ablation will be more likely than other patients. Patients are advised to maintain an optimistic attitude and adhere to the medication. Do not overwork, exercise appropriately, pulse monitoring, drink more water and have a light diet in general.
