Rabies vaccine several shots

Rabies vaccine usually refers to inactivated rabies virus vaccine, which has a blocking effect on rabies virus infection. The rabies vaccine is usually given within 24-48 hours of a dog or cat scratching and biting, and usually requires five injections. The first injection is given on the day of injury, followed by one on day 3, one on day 7, one on day 14, and one on day 30. In addition, patients with severe injuries may need to be treated with a combination of rabies immunoglobulin, and these patients may require an additional 2-3 injections.
