Spots on both sides of the nose are commonly caused by chloasma, freckles and other skin diseases, which are mainly caused by genetic factors, ultraviolet radiation, endocrine factors, etc. The causative factors of different skin diseases are different.
1. Melasma: Usually, melasma has a family genetic tendency, and ultraviolet radiation in sunlight can cause activation of melanocyte function and secretion of more melanin; changes in sex hormone level, chronic diseases, certain medicines, poor quality of sleep, and bad mental emotions can also lead to the production of melasma, which is manifested as the symmetrical distribution of yellowish-brown hyperpigmented spots on zygomatic area and cheek area.
2. Freckles: Freckles is an autosomal dominant disease with family aggregation; exposure to sunlight or long time ultraviolet irradiation can easily trigger this disease; staying up late, not cleaning after make-up, facing electronic screen for a long time, etc. can also induce freckles. Freckles can be found on the nose, cheeks and cheekbones, or light brown or dark brown spots on the upper eyelids and forehead.
