What is a normal uric acid level for women?

The value of uric acid in women is between 100-300 μmol/L. If, during the check-up, uric acid is found to be more than 360 μmol/L, a condition of hyperuricemia should be considered. Normal young women rarely have an increase in uric acid under the protective effect of estrogen. If there is an increase in uric acid, it should be investigated for kidney disease, such as chronic renal insufficiency, or caused by the use of medications, such as drugs to lower blood pressure or diuretics. In menopausal women, there is no estrogen protection and they are prone to high uric acid. Long-term high uric acid may trigger gout, which may be caused by disorders of purine metabolism in the body, or frequent alcohol consumption, or eating food containing too much purine.
