Redness, swelling and pain in the patient’s lower eyelids may be caused by blepharitis, conjunctivitis, dacryocystitis and orbital cellulitis. 1. Blepharitis: commonly known as granuloma, is a common acute suppurative inflammation of the eyelid glands, the patient’s eyelids may appear red, swollen, painful, conjunctival congestion and other uncomfortable symptoms. 2. Conjunctivitis: Conjunctivitis is an inflammatory disease of the conjunctival tissues, in which the patient may experience redness and swelling of the eyes, itchiness and increased secretion. 3. Others: Patients with dacryocystitis may present with acute inflammation of the lacrimal sac area, such as redness, swelling, and pain; patients with orbital cellulitis may present with localized redness, swelling, and pain in the eyelids, accompanied by symptoms of elevated skin temperature. It is recommended that patients with significant eyelid redness, swelling, and pain should seek prompt medical attention to evaluate their condition and undergo treatment under the guidance of a physician.
