Can tuberculosis be detected by chest X-ray?

Most TB can be seen on a chest X-ray. For a small percentage of patients, if the lung lesions are small, they may not be visible on chest X-ray. Chest X-ray for tuberculosis is also relevant because it does not reflect the size and extent of the lung lesions and the presence of enlarged lymph nodes in the mediastinum. Therefore, for the diagnosis and screening of pulmonary tuberculosis, CT examination of the lungs is emphasized, so that the nature of the lung lesions can be more clearly known and whether further examination is needed to clarify them, and even to guide the localization of lung puncture examination. Therefore, a chest X-ray for tuberculosis is also possible, but it can only be used as a primary screening.
