How to look at liver function in neonatal jaundice labs

Liver function test for newborns with jaundice will usually have reference value at the back, if it is not out of the reference value range is normal, if it is out of the reference value range, then it is abnormal.
When a newborn is jaundiced, the liver function test will be relatively simple, most of the hospitals will give the reference value at the back of the test, and parents can see whether there is any abnormality by comparing with the reference value; if there is no reference value, then we need to look at the value of non-conjugated bilirubin, total bilirubin, etc., and if they are generally high, then they are abnormal.
If parents still do not know how to read the labs themselves, they can take the labs to the outpatient clinic of the hospital and let the doctor see if they are normal or not, so as to avoid misreading the labs and delaying the later treatment of the newborn.
