What is urine glucose (+) during pregnancy

A urine test with glucose (+) during pregnancy suggests that the patient may have gestational diabetes, but a blood glucose test is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Gestational diabetes is diagnosed if the fasting blood glucose is >5.1mmol/l, or >10.0mmol/l 1 hour after meal or >8.5mmol/l 2 hours after meal. In some patients, blood glucose can return to normal after pregnancy, mainly because the placenta produces insulin-resistant substances that cause blood glucose to rise, so blood glucose may be normal after the placenta is removed, but in some patients, abnormal glucose metabolism may persist.
