The disadvantage of dental root canal treatment is that it may increase the brittleness of the tooth.
1. Usually root canal therapy is an effective treatment for endodontics and periapical disease. When the extent of endodontic and periapical lesions is large, the infection in the root canal should be removed and the tooth defect should be repaired. Finally, the root canals are tightly filled and restored with crowns, thus controlling infection, repairing defects, promoting healing of periapical lesions and preventing the occurrence of periapical lesions.
2. In general, patients may experience pain and other discomfort during and after treatment, most of which is normal. If the patient has severe pain with localized swelling and systemic reactions, further treatment should be given. After root canal treatment, due to the lack of nutrient supply, the tooth tissue will become weak and may crack when chewing hard objects. Therefore, crown restoration should be performed as soon as possible.
Patients are advised not to eat anything too hard after root canal treatment, and if the situation is serious, prompt medical attention is recommended.
