Is it possible to have asthma without coughing?

It is possible to have asthma without coughing. The symptoms of asthma are episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, dyspnea, chest tightness, or coughing. It most often appears after exposure to cold air, allergens, or irritating odors, after infection, or after strenuous exercise. Scattered or diffuse croup can be heard on auscultation of expiratory breath in both lungs. Patients with asthma may not have a cough, especially in the chesty type of asthma, where the patient’s symptoms are not typical and manifest only as chest tightness. The diagnosis of asthma is still mainly based on the patient’s symptoms, signs and auxiliary examinations. The auxiliary examinations are mainly based on lung function, and asthma can be diagnosed if the bronchial diastolic test is positive, or if the bronchial excitation test or exercise test is positive, with the exception of wheezing and shortness of breath caused by other diseases.
